February Is Heart Health Month

This month is Heart Health Month. Did you know heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in this country?

Here are a few ideas to help keep your heart healthy:

  • Lower your stress. Studies have found that people with less stress in their lives are at a reduced risk for heart disease. How can you reduce your stress? Regular exercise is a great start.
  • Eat your veggies. Having at least 1 serving of vegetables daily is a proven way to reduce your chances for heart disease.
  • Know your numbers. Do you know what your blood pressure normally is? Do you know what your cholesterol levels are? These numbers are good indicators of a heart health and knowing these numbers can help you be aware of how your life style is affecting your health.

The Rocky River Urgent Care can help you maintain a healthy heart. In addition to treating patients with an immediate medical need, we also see patients for routine checkups. Regular checkups are a vital part of maintaining a healthy heart and a healthy life style.
